After coming to Romania two years ago to develop a business in the energy industry, Michele Coretta, the Italian associate of this culinary venture, chose to invest in his passion for his native cuisine and fine-dining restaurants.
“I didn’t want to open an common Italian restaurant, but one that is not too easy to find in Romania and so Chicca Ristorante in Bucarest was born. I want to present the same quality Italian food enthusiasts find in top restaurants of the Peninsula. Therefore I have chosen one of the best chef in the South of Italy”, says Michele Coretta.
The ambitious goal to receive the first star from the ”Red Guide” in the first year of activity won’t be easy to achieve, but the Chef and his team want to prove that they are very good in their area of expertise.
Chef Gioì della Bruna is an award-winning chef who worked in Michelin star restaurants and intends to demonstrate that gourmet Italian cuisine will conquer for good the aficionados in Romania.
“My mentor is Gualtiero Marchesi, master of simplicity and innovation, who is considered the founder of modern Italian cuisine. Quality ingredients, passion for cooking that comes from my heart and authenticity of true Italian tastes are the signature features of dishes created by me. “, says Chef Gioì della Bruna.
Moreover, the evaluation criteria for “one star” in the Michelin Guide, which implies that the restaurant has the best kitchen in its category, are: the freshness and quality of ingredients; harmony and balance of flavors in the final dish; Chef’s creativity and his personal touch, and especially the quality consistency over time.
The menu is varied without being extensive, making a passage through all areas of the Peninsula gastronomy, with a focus on fish, seafood and pasta dishes. ChefGioì has selected the most delicious Italian dishes for each season. The ingredients are premium quality and come from Italy, from D.O.C. areas. Pasta, bread, breadsticks and sweets are all homemade. And the seasonal vegetables are grown around Bucharest by an Italian entrepreneur.
