Quite possibly one of the coolest videos we’ve seen in a while and certainly worthy of mention and comment on Bucharest Expat. The video is entitled “Move” and features a different twist on a stop motion type vid. To make this video, Australian independent film maker Rick Mereki traveled for 44 days around the globe with two buddies. This by itself is a dream, goal, or ambition that many of us expats share. We like to travel. We like to see different places and experience different cultures. Throughout the making of the Move video, Rick Mereki and group racked up around 38,000 miles across 18 flights to 11 different Countries. Pretty cool. There are actually three videos in this series, “Move”, “Learn”, and “Eat”, starring Andrew Lees. These viral videos have been commissioned by STA Australia have already been said to have inspired some to “get off the couch” and experience all that life has to offer. Enjoy the inspiration and the videos and don’t forget to check out the Vimeo Channel of Rick Mereki. In the meantime – go ahead and travel.
We’ve talked to quite a few expats, travelers, and people with the burning desire to leave their permanent home and pursue a more nomadic life. While this was 6 weeks of travel, some travel for only a couple of weeks out of the year while others truly do become a modern day nomad. Another friend of ours had decided that upon graduation of college he would throw a backpack on his back and travel around Europe and Asia. There was no “plan” really, and he traveled to cities both large and small. He paid his way by teaching English through private tutoring and buying and selling motorbikes; his primary mode of transportation from one locale to another. The lifestyle is achievable for those that want it!
